iPhone in Australia?

So when, who?
Vodafone had a low key announcement this morning:

Vodafone today announced it has signed an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone in ten of its markets around the globe. Later this year, Vodafone customers in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey will be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network. Read.

But I also read Optus would introduce the iPhone later this month...

don't really care as I won't be buying one but couldn't they choose someone who has some coverage outside the cbd? surely this will limit the number they sell. If Optus is to sell it too that will make a difference.
